With its inception, SolarKapital already acted as a developer of solar projects, for instance, in Greece. At this time, the first ten parks - which are still part of the SolarKapital portfolio - were built on Crete and Rhodes.

The strong market dynamics for the construction of PV plants and the given experience and expertise effected the decision to again become active in the sphere of project development. In doing so, SolarKapital is open for cooperation partners and, at the same time, has built up proprietary resources. Since June 2022, for example, Sylvain Deshayes, previously employed as project engineer at BayWa Re, has strengthened the SolarKapital team. He brings with him relevant references in connection with ground-mounted and floating power plants in France, Germany and the Netherlands.

Target countries for the PV project development activities are Germany, France and Greece and thus the countries in which SolarKapital has also been active in the past. The existing project pipeline in these countries is to be expanded rapidly and the corresponding projects brought to construction as quickly as possible. So far, the most advanced ground-mounted projects are in the Greek prefecture of Magnesia and on Crete. In Germany, too, the intention is to bring larger ground-mounted systems - but also corresponding roof-mounted systems - into early implementation. In addition, the further expansion of the existing PV portfolio, which currently consists of around 30 PV systems, will continue to be accelerated by further acquisitions of existing systems. For instance, additional PV plants in southern Germany are expected to be acquired in the coming weeks.
