Continuous, ideally string-based monitoring, the early detection of faults and the precise preparation of technical interventions are essential for the production results and cost-effective operation of PV systems. SolarKapital Group has recently started testing the AI-supported monitoring analysis tool SOLARIO on ten selected PV systems of the Group contributing to the further development of the application.

The SOLARIO web application was developed in cooperation with Neuralio AI and IA Agro and was specially designed for monitoring PV systems. The test application, which is funded by the European Union as part of the KYKLOS 4.0 deep learning research project, is able to specifically evaluate satellite data, weather analyses and location data. Machine learning algorithms and forecasting models are used to analyze the data. Temperature and irradiation values, information on current module production and extensive historical weather and production data serve as a database.

SOLARIO delivers yield forecasts for a specific location with its customized AI model for solar installations of any size. During operation, anomalies should be detected at an early stage, recommendations for predictive maintenance should be generated and impending system failures should be identified at an early phase and avoided as far as possible. The aim of the application is to intelligently and significantly improve the performance of PV systems with the help of AI.

Constantinos Sioumis, Managing Director of SolarKapital Greece said: "I am delighted that our group has succeeded in making a further contribution to the sustainable development of the global solarsector and at the same time creating value for our investors."
